The Committee on Social Policy and Labour recommends that The Verkhovna Rada adopts as a basis the Bill on amendments to Articles 5 and 8 of the Law "On the State Social Aid for the Low-Income Families".
The Bill (Reg.No.1416) envisages that the rate of the State Social Aid for the Low-Income Families should depend on the living wage since 1 January 2009.
Implementation of the Bill will require nearly 1 billion 537 mln. Hryvnias from the State Budget.
The Committee upholds the legislative motion aimed at enhancement of social protection of the low-income families, and at the compliance with the requirements of the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law "On the State Social Standards and State Social Safeguards", pursuant to which, the rate of State social aids should not be lower than the legally defined living wage.
